April has flown by in a whirlwind of non activity. Looking back, I honestly have no idea what I did this whole month. I spent a number of my weekends on home improvements. I installing some new curtains in my rooms and you really shouldn’t let me be near a drill. Right now all the parts and pieces are laying in a heap by my window and I’m crossing my fingers that some helpful elves will come one night and put it up for me.

Enjoy a newly discovered park along the Fraser river.

The weather has been getting slowly better. This week we’re expected to crack 20 degrees. I’ll believe it when I see it. Such “warm” weather so early in the year is virtually non existent in Vancouver. I’ve been using better weather and warmer days to do some more exploring around Vancouver which has been nice.

Here & Elsewhere

This month I wrapped up posts on Vienna which made me fall in love even more with it. I can’t wait until I get to go see it again. I shared my thoughts on reverse culture shock and discussed the things I learned while teaching abroad. Elsewhere, I chatted with Vanessa of Turnipseed Travel about saving and splurging when traveling and shared a photo essay of Budapest at The Picktures. I also shared my safety tips for traveling solo with 17 other fabulous women at Heart of a Vegabond and talked about a favorite outdoor activity of mine at Treepot Travels.

Love your best reads lists. (I’m kinda thinking of stealing it… don’t worry, I’d have to get organised first.)

Will be clicking through to a couple of those links.

Thanks Bronwyn! No worries about stealing the idea – it’s not original. I borrowed the idea from some others I saw doing it too 🙂 There are so many great travel blogs out there and sharing their posts is always fun.

Always fun discovering new sites – thanks for the share! I think my favorite is that thoughtful piece on whether or not anyone can travel. A thought I’ve been pondering for a while myself.
