You may have noticed the silence over the past couple months on here. That’s because I was busy preparing for a momentous milestone in my life.

That perfect west coast vibe. Thanks to Kai Jacobson for capturing this and many other moments throughout.
I got married! At the end of March. And since then I went on a mini moon and was just enjoying married life.

Don’t mind if “I Do”
My wedding weekend were a wonderful days full of family, friends and lots of laughter. It was the perfect blend of cultures – Chinese and Western traditions – as two families joined together.

Day 2 of celebrations – the Chinese banquet
Naturally, with travel being such a huge part of my life and one of the reasons why my husband and I bonded, we had to contain elements of travel in it! I’ll share more fully about my wedding day in another post though.
Our world map guest book!
Following our wedding, I spent some time showing friends who came into town for my wedding around Vancouver. Even though the weather wasn’t cooperating as it poured everyday, it was fun to have a mini staycation and experience everything that I love about Vancouver in a few days.

Some of the people I love most in the world
When everyone left, my husband and I packed up our own bags and headed south to sunny California! We explored San Francisco a bit before heading up to Sonoma and Napa Valley to enjoy its abundant wineries and amazing food.

The highlight of the trip was our meal at Bouchon Bistro, a one star Michelin star restaurant by Thomas Keller. While a splurge, the meal was totally worth it. Everything was so delicious!

The beginning of an amazing meal
With so many big changes in my life and huge expenses over the past 12 months (and now saving up for any potential kids), I really don’t know where this blog is headed. I don’t know how much traveling I’ll be doing in the next little while – I don’t have any plans for the rest of the year other than a trip to see family in the BC interior. I don’t know if I’ll be heading on international trips especially since I’ve used the majority of my time off this year for my wedding. I know I say this almost every year, but I really feel it this time. It’s not just me that I have to think about, but the well being of both my husband and me.

But LOTs of trips to IKEA (and ice cream!)
While I absolutely love everything I do for this little website of mine, I’ve been really enjoying my time off not having to think about what post I’m writing, putting together social media strategy or trying to tackle SEO. Plus, my responsibilities at work have really picked up and frankly, by the time I get home, I’m brain dead and so exhausted.

Setting up for a Facebook Live at work!
I know I don’t want to stop completely. I do love this website of mine but lately it’s been tough to find the time and energy to devote to the blog the way that I want to – like when I first started it. There is so much up in the air and I still have some thinking to do. Maybe it’s time to move on to another project, maybe I’ll be able to figure out my lifestyle to allow me to spend more time working on new posts. Who knows!

Insert some kind of metaphor about doors opening and closing
I still have so many stories and experiences from the past year that I’ve yet to write so I’ll be sharing those over the next couple months so I’m not going anywhere yet. And who knows, maybe by then something may have changed in my life and I’m off on another adventure!
What’s been happening in your life? What travels do you have planned? Do you have any advice for me?
P.S. You can read about my engagement here.
