Hello hello! Welcome to Pack Me To!

Osaka 2015
Who decides to start a travel blog after she’s come home from her adventure? Me that’s who. After living abroad for a year and a half, traveling throughout Europe, I was inspired to write about it and to inspire my friends (and hopefully you!) to go out and see the world. I like to eat, I like museums (generally), I like to wander on foot, taking in the world through my camera lens.
On this blog, I will share my travel adventures as well as how to travel the world even with a full-time job by taking advantage of vacation time and making the most of your time off. In 2015, I traveled a total of 44 days and in 2016, I traveled 39 days between long weekend getaways and longer trips away. Not bad while holding down a job with 3 weeks of vacation time!
So who exactly am I?
From a young age, my parents instilled in me the thirst for knowledge and the desire to explore. Before I could even walk, I was hustled up and down the west coast of North America. My father worked in the LA area, but we lived in Vancouver, BC.
When I was 14, my family went on a trip to Paris and the Loire Valley. I can still remember my excitement and thrill over being able to go. It seemed like such a world away.
What started off as family vacations has now grown into a deep desire to explore and experience the world. In my final year of high school, I went on a humanitarian aid trip to Cambodia with my school. I spent a week building a school and fixing up another. I spent another week exploring the history and people of Cambodia. I was fascinated by everything that I had seen and learned.

Living abroad had always been a part of the master plan and I finally took the leap in 2011 when I applied to go on an internship through AIESEC, the international platform for young people to explore and develop their leadership potential to have a positive impact on society (it’s a great way to go if you’re intimated by all the steps you need to take in order to get abroad). I ended up in Budapest, Hungary for a year and a half. You can read all about my adventures here.
I have since moved back”home” (but what is home really?), where I attempt to continue traveling and seeing the world while holding down a full time job and adult responsibilities. In recent years, I’ve traveled as far as Hong Kong and Japan as well as trips closer to home like down the Oregon Coast or San Francisco. Join me as I head on my next adventure!
Why “Pack Me To”?
Pack Me To started as a place for me to write about my travel experiences as I explore the world. I love words, and this particular title is a play on words depending on which to / too you use.
Often whenever I tell people about my next adventure, one of the first responses is a joke for me to pack them into my luggage. While, I’m not opposed to people coming along with me on my adventures, I don’t think the airlines would appreciate them in my luggage! But it doesn’t mean that you can’t come along for the ride virtually.
I’ve dabbled in other writing pursuits – you can read about my time in Hungary here – but this will be where I concentrate on just travel.
